Our Training
Here at Auburns K9 we use a scientific method of dog training. We use a dogs natural instincts and desire to please as a training tool as well as verbal and physical praise and reward. We do not use clickers or treats to entice the dog to do what we want, rather the dog follows commands because he/she wants to. The dog is happy and obedient, thus making you a happy owner!
Training Basics
7 Day Plan - Basic Training
-Your pet will be treated as one of our own
-Your dog will be well exercised, and nutritiously fed and watered in complete sanitary conditions.
-All dogs are trained with the "praise" method. No food or fear is incorporated into our training.
-At Auburn's K9, we help put you in control of your pet.
-Once your dog's training is complete, you will be taught how to handle him/her correctly,
reinforcing the training methods.
-After you have learned to work your dogs properly, simple verbal commands given in the proper tone will be all that are necessary.
Advanced Training
Advanced training addresses a multitude of needs, from problem resolution
to agility training, to more complex skills (for companionship enhancement)
to security and protection curriculums.
As with the 7-day Basic training plan, you dog will be well exercised and socialized during his/her stay.
Advanced Training often includes private instruction for you and your dog, at
our campus and often at your home. Private sessions are very helpful for
dealing with behavior problems, aggression, and anti-social behavior, as well
as basic manners and obedience.
We also offer Alternative Individualized Plans, too.
You and your dog training together on a personalized schedule on our campus or at your home
Guard and Security training for personal, home, or office protection, Don't be a victim. Man's best friend is also your best friend and most affordable protection - and gives you loyalty and undying love 24/7.
Training Summary
You will be personally instructed on how to handle your newly trained dog, to reinforce the professionally trained behavior patterns. After you have learned to work your dog properly, simple verbal commands given in the proper tone will be all that is necessary.
Your pet will learn the following communication skills-
HEEL- your dog will walk with you on your left side, making a walk much more enjoyable.
SIT - by having your dog sit on command, you are able to control your dogs behavior in all situations.
STAY - Your dog will learn to stay in three positions - sit, down, and stand. The skill is especially
beneficial for overall restraint of your pet.
DOWN - A simple command will be all it takes to direct your dog to lie down
COME - Perhaps the easiest, most important command to maintain discipline over your pet. Corrections are taught through these.
Your pet will also be trained in three types of commands:
The VERBAL command
The HAND command
The LEASH command
Beyond that, we work with the dog's attention span. Even Lassie would not work on set without these training methods. Focus is the main thing, the dog must be totally focused on you.
